175,999 I don't get this "rape culture" thing.  Yes, women get raped by evil men... but a "culture" of it?  It's not a "culture" because more men don't do that stuff than there are men who do that stuff.  If you are a grown woman and hanging around men who routinely objectify you, degrade your appearance, and make rude comments about you, guess what?  It's your own fucking fault.  You have chosen to hang around those types of men.  There are plenty of men out there - most men, actually - who aren't like that.  You pick the "thug life," and that's what you're gonna get: thugs in your life.  Grow the fuck up and leave those assholes.

175,998 I don't mean to brag but I loved myself . I laugh when other people try to put me down its quite comical special when it comes from catty woman . I come from a culture where women ideal of beauty is curvy , flat stomach , big boobs , bubble butt and tone legs . I have that since I been lifting weight on and off for years . My goal is not to look like a Victoria's Secret model while they are beautiful ladies is not my type of ideal body  . I prefer my muscular thighs and bubble butt. Im just happy with the way I look so please dear neighbor not every desires to be a size 0 , have slim legs or weight under 100 pounds .  Beauty is on the eye of the beholder so your silly comments about my fat stomach ( lol is flat) or my saggy boobs ( they are not , I had a breast lift many years ago) are worthless . Just because you are insecure and catty doesn't mean I'm the way.

175,997 I remember the first time that I was cat-called. I was walking to the bus alone after hanging out with some friends. A large, foul-smelling man whistled at me from a doorway. He called out "hey mami" and said that I was very pretty and that he would really like to kiss me. I didn't know what to do so I smiled and nervously laughed. He stepped in front of me and blocked me from getting past him. Luckily, there were other people in the area walking around and I darted behind one of them in order to escape from the situation. As I left, I could hear him jeering to his friends that he would love to "tap that ass."

I was FOURTEEN. I knew about sex and I had experienced some light flirting and petting with boys my own age, but this was the first time I realized that there were people out there who thought that they had a right to my body. That is rape culture in a nutshell. Happily for me, most of the men I have been involved with in my adult life have been upstanding individuals who respect me (and likewise, I respect the heck out of them), but it makes my heart ache to know that there are so many women out there that are harassed on a daily basis.

I hope that other women read this and the other secrets like this and aren't afraid to tell their stories. Some folks online like to try and silence us and say that "rape culture isn't real" but the more we speak out and the more we draw attention to what we went through just proves how wrong they are.

175,996 When my wife has a friend over, I make a point of laughing at something the friend says, and then touching her arm. I make it look like a spontaneous gesture.

Or I'll walk behind the friend and put my hand on her back. It looks like a warm greeting of sorts.

All seemingly innocent. But I'm really testing the waters. I want to see how the friend reacts. Does she bristle at my touch? Or does she warm to the idea and touch me back in return.

It's a slow dance.

175,995 175993, I'm sorry. Your story greatly disturbs me because I was that male.  Slightly different scenarios, but I did those types of things to women. I was young and immature. These days I often literally cringe thinking about how poorly I behaved back then. I hope things turn out better for you going forward.

175,994 987- I hear ya' but as a woman, I think I'd be more comfortable changing in front of somebody that was born a man and is now a woman than I would be changing in front of somebody that was born a woman but now identifies as a man, has a beard and dresses and looks like a man.

Honestly I'm not comfortable changing in front of other women either so it doesn't make that much difference to me what gender they were born as.

175,993 These are some of my experiences with "rape culture." I'm an average looking, shy, nerdy wall flower type. This is relevant because I'm sure the prettier, more outgoing girls probably got it worse than I did.

The first relevant experiences I can remember are from early elementary school, starting in kindergarten. I remember being punched in the crotch on a lot of different occasions. (Apparently little boys loved to do this). I remember boys trying to get a look at us while we were changing. One time a bunch of boys held down a bunch of girls while one of them ground his fist into our vaginas saying he was giving us "electric shocks." And apparently little boys also loved to pull down their pants in front of little girls. That happened a lot. One boy kept promising to be my best friend if I would suck his dick. We were all so young and none of us knew any better.

In the older grades (6-8ish) there was a lot of bra snapping. There was constantly being called a slut, whore, bitch.

In high school I had "blossomed" and had a slim athletic figure with larger than average boobs, which I mostly covered up with baggy t-shirts and sweatshirts. One time I wore a body suit (which was the style back then) to be made fun of by a bunch of girls for my big boobs. One time I wore a cute dress then listened to 2 boys discuss how I wasn't that pretty but I had a nice body and they might sleep with me anyway, if I was lucky.  Once I had to do a group project with one other girls and three guys. The guys all took bets on what colour bra I was wearing and kept asking me to show them. I went to a summer camp and most of the guys all had a crush on the same girl. Then one of them said "you guys should go for (insert my name here) because it's not the face you screw." I went to a party that ended with a whole bunch of us sleeping in tents in a field. I was sharing a six-man tent with some other girls. Two guys we knew didn't have a tent so we let them stay with us. Once everyone seemed to be asleep one of the guys climbed on top of me and begged me to make out with him. I said no. He begged "please please just a little bit." I finally gave in and made out with him for a while. Then I turned my head away and asked him to get off me. He begged for more. I made out with him a little more. Then I turned my head away and he got off me and moved on to one of my friends.  My first boyfriend would push me to do things I didn't want to do. I was young and inexperienced and wanted to take things slow. I would tell him "I'm not ready to do (insert act here) and he would get me all worked up then do those things anyway. I would get angry at him. I even cried a few times. it didn't stop him.

University - you'd think the guys would be a little more mature by now... I would sometimes go out to bars with friends and it was an endless parade of guys unexpectedly leaning over and trying to kiss you.  Also constant groping, grabbing our butts  as they walked by. Putting their hands on us. Cat calls and comments on the street. One time a guy that was dating my best friend hugged me hello and as we were pulling away, he slid his hand over my boobs. I dated a guy from my dorm for a bit but then he just started sending me instant messages asking for no-strings-attached blow jobs. If I refused, he would lay on a massive guilt trip about how I didn't care about his feelings.

After University things were more tame. Probably because I had a set group of friends that I hung out with on a regular basis. But any time I wore a flattering shirt (I'm not even talking about sexy) I would get comments about my boobs and told what I was wearing was distracting. One night a guy spent the whole evening trying to throw random small objects into my cleavage.

These experiences are only a fraction of what I could write, but I think I've made my point. The worst thing about this is that it never really occurred to me until recently that these things might not be acceptable and that these guys didn't have the right to do these things. They were things we had to protect ourselves from or things we had to tolerate. The other messed up thing was how much we, as females dumed ourselves down and acted ditzy or girly because that's what was expected.

Now I'm in my mid-thirties. I don't really wear flattering shirts anymore. I try to keep myself covered up. It's often just not worth the comments and for some reason I'm more self-conscious than I used to be. I also try not to dumb myself down anymore. It's a difficult habit to break.

Now this isn't about bashing men. The majority of the guys I referred to really are good people. I don't think it was ever their intention to hurt anybody or behave inappropriately. It's just what is expected of them and what our culture teaches us is normal. So it's not about making anybody feel guilty but I hope maybe people will start to think more about their words and actions and how they might be contributing to this type of culture.

175,990 The Jewish religion should do more marketing. Your religious services are way more fun than church. And smoked whitefish salad is to die for.  I'm thinking with a few primetime TV commercials, you could have the largest number of followers.

175,988 PAIN

I sleep the days away, in attempt to escape the pain
In my desperation, there I close my eyes and lay
But she always comes back to play..

With quiet whispers of hope, I fight to stay
powerless, I barely say
"B-but… it cannot always rain"
And my companion is never far away, the pain.

Oh It has been so long
I never stop asking "Where did I go wrong?"
Is she my arch enemy or my friend..
all I know is that this suffering has no end..

She is never far away
She likes to hide behind the benevolent face of love and oh I always pray
I beg her you see..
I scream "Please, pain, leave us be!"

But then I pity her poor soul..
For I should know
How it feels to be the lonely one
So I invite her back to play,
And she is always here to stay…

175,987 To me, it's not so much of a bathroom issue as a gym locker room issue. All these people who are in favor of the new legislation, I just can't believe you are okay with the idea of changing into a bathing suit while a man you don't know is standing next to you. Like you are really going to strip down naked in front of this stranger? I don't know any woman who would do it. Please, tell me I'm wrong. Honestly answer and say you are okay with getting naked in front of a man in the women's locker room.

175,986 Actually, and I'm speaking from my own experience only, and I only met a couple of Transgender who transitioned from men to women and they super nice, kind and funny, really good people. They'd be horrified at the thought of any type of violence against anyone in a restroom, especially women. I'm a woman and I wouldn't have a problem sharing a public bathroom with them.

175,985 If the majority of people spent as much effort on being kind, understanding, inclusive and agreeable as they do on selfies, self-fantasy celebrity, being sarcastic, judgey, gossipy, mean spirited, competitive and down right self obsessed... Many of societies problems would find solutions for themselves.

People are unhappy with global society and the Internet is a magnifying glass on how terrible it truly is.

175,983 The strategy is to criticize a system that is working exactly as it should. They claim that it's rigged, but it's not. They claim that it's unfair, but it's working exactly how it's supposed to. They throw chairs, yell insults, and send death threats when they don't get their way. I don't care what happens as long as these dumb little cult followers go back to sitting on their thumbs once this is all over.

175,978 I notice the signs with women from their social media profiles.  They go quiet for a few weeks.  Then they change their profile pictures to just themselves, or to pics of them with their friends, or of someone they care about.  That's how I can tell they've broken up with their boyfriends.  Then I go in for the kill.  I message them asking how things are, being all happy and cheery... always asking about them and their feelings.  Then I'll make some innocuous, friendly comment about their boyfriend.  Then it seems like I was just concerned for them.  The damn breaks open.  I meet them, and I'm in for the revenge fuck.  Works like a charm.

175,977 Bernie is getting screwed on the delegate counts, at least that's what we're being told.  I can imagine that the Sanders supporters - who only think of themselves with their "free this and free that" attitudes - will never allow themselves to vote for Clinton.  No way could they ever see the bigger picture.  I bet many of them simply won't show up to the polls.  Trump will coast in - thank God.

175,976 I am no fan of Hillary but please wake up America !
Bernie's ideas are very 60's. Nowhere in the world has socialism worked. Look at what is going on in Venezuela today and Cuba and the rest of South America.
America was built on hard work and taking care of yourself.Forget about big Government. Today welfare has become a way of life for many Americans and that is why were are becoming a third world country. Look at our infrastructure . It is a joke. Today you look at the modern cities of  Asia and you realize America is falling far behind.
Our universities are packed with Asians who work hard and want to better themselves. Americans are  watching the Kardashians on the their cellphones and move back home because they can't find a job that pays them $150,000 a year!
Having a arrogant President that tells Africa Americas it is because of racial hate they are still at the bottom of the totem poll-does not help. He did more to enslave black Americans than any President before him. He had a perfect opportunity to uplift the African American Community. If he was  a leader like Martin Luther King he would have called the black leaders together and  would have told them "we only have ourselves to blame for this situation. Take care of your kids.Make sure they get educated. Be a parent take responsibility for your life and family" No he reinforced the same old bullshit-" your are victims of racism and police brutality"
Unfortunately Americans have all become victims and that is why the country is falling apart! That happens when you watch Oprah 24 hours a day.
Nobody  takes responsibility for their lives...We have become a nation of losers who expect the government to take care of us.

175,972 My generation came along right after the social and moral destruction wrought by the baby boomers. We took the 80s and 90s and cleaned up after them, first with Reagan and then with Bill Clinton. I didn't particularly care for either of them--in fact I voted against both of them. But Reagan was able to broker the end of Communism and restore faith in America and our ideals; and Clinton's decade, the 1990s, was a prosperous time which left us with a budget surplus and a thriving economy.

Now comes the other slice of bread--the Millennials seeking to destroy America and our ideals (not to mention Western Civilization), and leaving a trail of economic catastrophe in their wake, courtesy of Barack Obama and his Socialistic fantasy world.

Millennials, don't pat yourselves too hard on the back thinking you're radicals and revolutionaries. What you're doing is nothing new, it's just a rehashing of the 1960s. It's what used to be said of the Baby Boomers--a revolution of the overprivileged.

You won't be cleaning up your mess. Your kids will have to try to do it for you. If you succeed in your goal of wiping American Ideals and Western Civilization off the map, they'll be living in a police state and standing in line for hours to buy a stale loaf of bread. They're the ones I'm scared for.

175,970 966 I'm with you! I teach US History too and people are very uneducated. Slavery has existed in many civilizations in many different forms, and to an extent, still does in certain places.

The American story is powerful, yes savage as well, yet moving.

The Colonists came here on a hope and a dream. The Patriots won their independence from the foremost leading military in the world at the time. We stole, bought, and fought over land to achieve Manifest Destiny.

The US ended slavery in the same century many other countries did. Did you all forget about the horrible mistreatment of Native Americans? Read up on that to be disturbed.

The Civil War wasn't fought over Abolitionism. The North fought to preserve the Union. They didn't believe we could defend as 2 separate nations. The Southerners wanted to govern themselves to preserve the institution of slavery to keep King Cotton going=$. 3 million people died in the war.

Educate yourself people. Take a World History class and you will find slavery and war throughout all civilizations.

175,969 I'm a 28 year old college educated married professional women and I get the dumbest, silliest crushes on actors. Currently I am obsessed with Sebastian Stan. Oh lawd jeezuz that man. I have watched on repeat a video of him speaking Romanian a minimum of 10 times. Wtf. I'm happily married and usually have a good head on my shoulders but I'm saving pictures of an actor on my phone like a goddamn teenager girl on Tumblr. 🙄 I'm so silly. It's kinda fun though. Lol

175,967 In about 12 hrs, I will go from having a clean record to being on probation for prostitution. Because the cops find time to send a 6 man task force into my home along with a snake with a wire on. I will have a record for life and it is done specifically to shame me and keep me on the fringe forever. Meanwhile, the guy behind me in the same bldg this happened, was lightly told to keep the noise level down each time the cops were called on him for the domestic arguments everyone could hear him perpetrating on his wife.  During the time the police were watching my guest traffic and printing up every picture of my tits they could dig up, while they were printing and reading my reviews and linking my hobby profiles to my Facebook and coordinating the bust around my mom arriving just to make it sting more...the guy behind me beat his wife up so savagely that neither were ever to return to the apt. Their families came to clear the place out while he sat in jail and she lay in the hospital with a rearranged face, fighting for her life. The police let that shit fester and end explosively...so they could prove I was fornicating in the privacy of my home with more than one man. Policing my fucking bedroom as this woman was overlooked until she ran out of luck and had her safety ripped out of her reach. What the fuck is wrong with our society? This is unacceptable and I'm shocked that I can't even say anytJing or I'll be slut shamed and ostracized into oblivion, as the forgotten woman behind me is once again bumped In favor of judging a 500/hr hooker with way  too many people minding MY business instead of theirs.  That's our priorities, everyone.  That's why things will continue to get worse.

175,966 I teach AP US History and am unashamedly pro-American.  Yes, we've had our faults but as a whole, the United States has been the greatest engine of prosperity and freedom worldwide.  For example, slavery was ended in this country when we were less than 100 years old and 8% of all white men aged 13 to 43 died in the conflict.

Slavery had been a part of near every civilization on Earth and we eradicated it on our shores in a few generations.

When you call America racist and violent, remember the sacrifices that were made and the founding documents that laid out the principles of liberty and equality that have helped keep tyranny at bay.

175,965 I want to slap my wife's ass hard. Tie her up, fuck her like an animal. Oil her-up, tease her pussy slowly. Slide my cock in...just a little. Move up to her lips. Watch her frantically search for my tip blindly u til I let her gulp me down, down to my balls with a wet sloppy slurp. Another spank. Cock pushed into her throat while she stroked me. I can feel the pre-cum dripping into her mouth.

Kiss her. Bite her lip. Put my cock back in, pull it out, kiss her, slide my cock into her excited mouth. Then spank her oily shiny ass, just before slipping my cock all over her oily neck, tits, arms, ass. I wan to feel that pop, as it's slid to part her lips and delve all the way j to her wet pussy.

Slowly, going so slowly until I'm numb. Then fuck like an animal. Getting it harder and faster.

175,964 934 - Oy vey.  Similar here.  Traditional program hasn't been run in over thirty years.  Small committee gets approval to spearhead reviving it.  A few weeks before the program starts, all hell breaks loose from those who could/should have been organizing it all this time.  Many invitations to join were rebuffed over time.  I wish it had been in the spirit of helpfulness but it was clear that if they weren't going to be a part of organizing the program, they were not going to be supportive in any way.

Some people would rather abject failure/immobility than something happening without their input.  Not quite the same but argggh!

175,963 Our decisions? Uh, are you still under the illusion that our votes count, we are choosing the lesser of the two evils at any given election? Uhm, the economic issues were facing now are a result of the "real" leaders using purchased presidents to fulfill their machinations. Our fault? Bitch please, wake the fuck up.

The coolest meme I saw recently was one of a politician in a NASCAR photo, and the caption said they should be forced to dress like racecar drivers so we know has purchased them.

175,961 I'm a "millennial" and I'm so tired of the condescension from the older crowd. You realize that the current economy and world/political/social situations are due to your decisions, right?Excuse us while we try to fix your mistakes and make the world sane.

I mean good Lord I'm definitely not a strong liberal/conservative but it's clear that the previous generation left a huge mess and doesn't want to take any responsibility for it.

A lot of things are fucked up in the world right now, but let's not act like the previous generations did not contribute to this mess.

175,960 I think they ought to call the current young people the Pampers Generation. For one thing, they've been so coddled all their lives their thinking is plateaued at the level of a toddler. Second, they're so emotionally infantile they really should be wearing Pampers.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens to them when they get out of the incubator of college. They'll be entering a job market oversaturated with college grads. And most of the plum jobs will be already filled--by older people who would've retired if they could've, but can't because of the looting of Social Security and Medicare. And good luck getting even a shitty job; those will be held by illegal immigrants willing to work under the table for less than that fabulous minimum wage the kids were agitating for. And #BlackLivesMatter is going to mushroom into #KillAllWhites, and Detroit is going to look like the Riviera compared to what the cities will become.

Good luck, kids, you better find a safe space--you're gonna need it.

175,959 It seems that people in the U.S. have completely lost their ability to think for themselves.  We are arguing about bathrooms and politics of the day, just grabbing hold of every shitty half-witted idea that any corrupt, lying sack of shit politician dreams up, and riding it right into the ground. Now we're choosing between bad and worse, and meanwhile, in China they're looking 40, 50, 100 years ahead.  We're playing pinball, and they're playing chess. I'll be gone in 40 years, but for the rest of you motherfuckers, you better learn to speak Chinese.

175,956 I voted for Obama in 2008.  I was sick of the republicans, and bought into the whole "outsider" thing.  My support ended with the ACA.  My career is in health care public policy, and I was absolutely shocked at not just what was passed, but how it was passed.  It was obvious to anybody in the field that there was absolutely no way the ACA was going to work.  Every benefits mandate adds costs, eliminating PECs and lifetime caps adds costs, and lowering the community rating provision adds costs to the younger people.  For every penny of a cost increase, X number of people on average drop their insurance.  These cost increases were massive.  It was clear that people would drop out of the insurance pool.  Yet, they passed it anyway, and we're dealing with it.  There's no way I could support Obama after the ACA.

But the good thing is that Obama made me an ardent gun rights supporter.  Before Obama, I didnt care about guns or gun control.  But after seeing how they lied to passed the ACA, in the aftermath of the Aurora CO movie theater shooting, I started paying close attention to the arguments Obama used for gun control.  All lies, just like the ACA.

On the plus side, because I've consistently told people the ACA was going to fail, I look like a genius.

175,946 You know what makes me laugh?  Black people and their useful white idiots who say a white person is racist simply because he's white.

First, because it's racist to say a person is racist simply because of his race.  Words have definitions, remember?  Pot, meet kettle.

Second, the useful white idiots don't seem to understand that sucking up to racist blacks doesn't suddenly make them "good white people" in their eyes.  The racist blacks still hate the useful white idiots because... they're white.  That's what racists do.

I know a few social justice warrior white girls who post this "white privilege" bullshit and only date blacks and Latinos.  They're sad, really.  They don't realize that nothing they do makes them any better in the eyes of the people they're sucking up to.  They're hated by people filled with hate.  Things will never get any better for them.

175,945 Why is it wherever I go other women stare at me, and if they are with someone, they turn to that person, whisper something to them, and then both of them laugh at me. I wish I had the courage to ask what is so funny about me. Am I really that bad? One of these days I'm going to end up snapping and putting a rope around my neck....

175,944 Picture this. I was driving home late at night. Suddenly i realize there's a car behind me. All I can see are his headlights. He's clearly following me. I turn left, he turns left. I turn right, he turns right. Finally I turn into a parking lot. He of course follows. But I immediately loop around so that now my headlights are shining on his face.

Turns out it's a police officer. I confront him.

"Just doing my job."

What job is that? Harassing citizens? Acting like a total fucking creep following people home in the middle of the night on dark, deserted streets? Do you at all consider how that looked from  my point of view?

No wonder way everyone hates the cops. Stay the fuck away from me!

175,940 There was a chemical research facility near where I live. The company moved out. The property was put up for sale.  No developer would buy it though. There were rumors of chemical contamination of the soil. After all, the research company had been there for many decades.

The town was keen to have it sold though. If it could be turned into a new housing development, it would mean more tax revenue. Money! Money! Money!

But whatcha gonna do? The developers wouldn't touch this can of worms.

So the town bought the property. I was concerned. Why would the town buy the property? We aren't in the real estate development business.

I asked the officials about the contamination issue. They told me there was beryllium found at the site. This is apparently bad. But not to worry, the chemical company was going to clean it up and the state would inspect and guarantee the work was done.

Well, okay. As long as it gets cleaned up.

Next thing I know, the town sold the property to a real estate developer  --- including a parcel to a town official. Homes are going up.

I asked about the clean-up. Shouldn't that be done BEFORE the homes are built?

I was told not to worry about it. The chemical company and the state concluded the beryllium was naturally occurring. So not an issue. No clean up necessary. And by the way, no money has to spent on a costly cleanup.

Skeptical, I googled the chemical research company along with the word beryllium.  I got plenty of hits from science articles describing how that particular company did research with beryllium at that exact location.

Golly, what an amazing coincidence. The company used beryllium. And beryllium was found at that site. But no, it's not a problem. It's all natural!

And the final rub, the beryllium that was found, it was located at the output of a drain pipe leading from the company off into the woods. You know... beryllium naturally likes to exist right next to drain pipes...

Now houses are being built and unsuspecting people will move in.

This is our world. This is who we are. Money! Money! Money!

175,938 I'm beat down.  I'm depressed.  Two years ago I learned I was losing my well paying job.  It did not come as a surprise.  My new boss was hiring young women in place of the older men.  I was unemployed for 8 months and went through 23 interviews before I landed my current job.  All those interviews, and it turns out my current boss is mean, arrogant, and terrible.  I've been looking for a new job since a month after I started.  I've gone on 7 more interviews.  I still can't seal the deal.  At least I have a job, even if it's with a crazy fucker.

175,937 In my town, people are complaining about the local supermarket. They were being horrible, saying the supermarket sells bad moldy food. It's so not true. The supermarket is part of a well known chain. It has great prices and what's more, they are a great neighbor. They are always helping out the community with donations.

I felt it was so unfair to bash the supermarket, so I nicely spoke up. I posted some of this week's sale prices showing how inexpensive the spaghetti was, 59 cents a box!

One of the nasty complainers then jumped down my throat, saying the spaghetti is carbs and my kids and I must be "fatties" if I serve spaghetti for dinner.

I must be fat if I serve spaghetti?? Spaghetti is now an unhealthy food? My kids and I are at the perfect weight. No fat at all. But yes, I'm a bad mom for serving spaghetti. Call the police. Gee, I've never heard of any mother ever serving their children spaghetti....

Out of curiosity I looked up this woman. She's quite overweight. As is her husband.

What's with people? Why is everyone so nasty? And liars too. How will we ever get along to make America great again if people say such mean things?

175,936 I have a six year old. He just started to amend the way he pronounces the "r" sound. The way he spoke like a toddler was cute, but he has to grow up sometime.

I get a similar satisfaction when I hear other white people discus racism...

175,935 I have developed an attitude that I don't give a shit about anything anymore. Not a suicidal attitude, but an attitude, that just says, hey, Trump, Clinton, Sanders, whoever, I don't care. Trans in bathrooms, I don't care, liberal, conservative...tough shit. I am older, almost ready to retire, have a pension already at a level that I can live comfortable, so I care about the things I care about. If my kids scream about no money, well they are adults and work, don't come crying to me, I have been giving you money for 25 years, time to be an adult and do the right thing... I like my new attitude. Oh yes, wife, if you don't want to fuck, thats ok I have other "friends" that will...new attitude

175,934 927, I came very close to posting the same thing recently.

There's a woman in my community like this.  When I first moved here I looked for somewhere to volunteer/help out, as I have my whole life.  I was directed to this woman. She volunteers at the church and the church's thrift shop/food pantry.  She organizes holiday food drives for the poor.

There was one such drive, and I was unable to get to the first organization meeting due to a work obligation.  She said no problem, come to the church on Saturday to help load the boxes of food onto the trucks for delivery.  She told me any time between 8-12.

After I got my family taken care of, I headed over.  I got there at 9ᚲ, went up to the table where she and a few other women were, and introduced myself.  She kind of looked me up and down and told me they were finished, they didn't need anymore help.  Huh?  Yes, she said, they had so many people show up that they had all the help they needed, but thanks.  Something felt really off about that.  There were lots of people still milling about, not doing anything much other than having coffee and pastries and chatting.

I went outside and sat in my car, watching.  There were some people loading boxes into a truck.  They DEFINITELY could have used more hands, but for some reason, I wasn't needed - or wanted.  Weird.

Since then, I've watched this woman closely on social media.  She's not nice.  She makes fun of other people, says some very not nice things and is generally kind of bitchy.  She's right there in the middle of the online fights.  But people love her, because of her good and selfless work in the community.  Recently, someone exposed a local business for doing something illegal.  The next day, she posted a selfie on our town's Facebook page at that business.  "Having a great time at ----!"  And oh, the comments.  "Aw, that's just like you, X, doing your very best to help and support this community!"

Makes me sick.

175,931 I happen to wholeheartedly believe that transgender people deserve to have the same rights as the rest of us. At the same time, I understand why some people would be freaked out about the recent bathroom ruling; it's not like their prejudices and preconceived notions are going to just go away overnight.

I think the obvious solution here is to build more single-person facilities. I don't think that will happen though. It's far easier for people to complain about something, but when it comes to actually finding (not to mention funding) a solution they're slow to act.

175,930 Dear Guy in my Apartment Building,

I hadn't seen you for awhile. Not since you walked by the window carrying a baby on your chest. I caught you spying on me today. Single me would have loved to ask you out, but alas. Always nice to see you around. I hope your life is filled with beautiful things.

175,928 I was just watching some great porn, mindful of my wife upstairs.  I'm starting to blow my load when, fuck, she comes barreling down the stairs.  So as I'm cumming I have to sit at my computer and pretend nothing is happening while my dick is still shooting out cum.  I thought it'd be a waste of a few minutes to myself, but it felt pretty good.  There was something hot about seeing a puddle of cum at my feet.

175,927 Beware of people who come across as super volunteers in the community. We've all encountered the type. Always gung ho to dive right in when the community needs help, be it a food drive or a library book sale.

What I've noticed though is these are very bad people once you pull back the covers. Deep inside, they know it too. That's why they try to help so much - to ease their guilt for being such a bad person.

Don't be fooled. Stay clear of these people.

175,926 How about we just build unisex bathrooms so whoever wants to used  them gay , straight , male , female, it are welcome to used them regardless of their sex . And the rest like myself will continue using the women bathroom . I'm not a hateful or bigoted person but at the same time I do not want share the bathroom or locker with straight males pretending to be transsexual and do not want to put my kid on the situation either. It's not the transsexuals people are worry about its the perverse who are willing to anything even dressing like a women to take advantage of a law that wasn't created for them.

175,924 I keep my daughter's childhood trinkets in a few bins in our storage unit.  They don't take up much space.  There's old photos, school stuff, and stuffed animals.  She probably wouldn't miss them if they were gone, but I keep them in case she ever gets released from the institution.  It's a symbol of my hope that she'll get better.  It reminds me of the good times.

175,923 Sometimes I feel like this whole rat race is running me ragged. Besides working 40+ hours/week to make ends meet, I've been trying to start doing some of my hobbies so I don't feel so dead inside from only doing work I don't like. I've been trying to maintain friendships and find a relationship, and balance having time to myself to breathe. Since I live with my father again (I moved back to save money to move in with some friends, but that hasn't come to fruition yet and it's been months) I don't have much alone time at all unless I'm going to bed. Since I work at an office I have to make all of my calls concerning bills and apartments over the phone.

All throughout this I'm the kind of person who always has extra happiness to spare to make people feel better and make their day brighter. Maybe I'm so tired because I'm constantly giving out energy to people and activities, so even when I'm having fun I'm still being emotionally supportive of people and it's still draining. What do I do?

175,921 What I like about Trump is-" what you see is what you get". He has no hidden agenda even when it comes to women. He loves pretty girls and hot women. The other so called decent politician are holier than thou but meanwhile they are sending dick pics to women and worse. Hillary's husband is the worse kind and she has a mouth full about Trump's treatment of woman? PLEASE!

175,920 "Oh, I see.  So you've even put thought into whether you think it's okay to stick your cock into a woman when she's passed our or not?  You're definitely a bigger perv than any trans person might be."

Talking like a true man-hating woman. :) You aren't defending transexuals,You're attacking men. Men are Your problem. Not all men rape, barely any man has ever raped a woman, and any man that has ever done it is mentally ill. Perverts are also a problem, but they're indirectly getting more rights because of the TRANSEXUALS. That's why people are talking so much against the transexuals, because they - as the gays, lesbains, migrants, etc. are a tool of liberal propaganda used against normal men and women. Transexuals are just another branch of the distorted notion of humanity. People born with two genders are less than 0,0000012% of society. Transexuals are a lot more in number, which just proves that they've become what they are our of their perverted and immoral minds, not out of need. As far as it considers me the penalty for ANY crime should be the death penalty. Only then will crime be abolished completely,or minimized because of fear. Doctors and society has become too liberal in general to allow them to declare themselves transexual, and for them to support their claim. Be realistic and admit that transexuals are opening the door to a perverted shit fest that's going to put fear into the hearts and minds of children and women. Because only transexuals are opening the door to more perverts.

Your house is haunted. There is a spirit that manifests around your baby. Be warned: Spirits love infants, pre-teens and women. They have the most volatile emotional and psychic energy.

Honestly, this is NOT a good haunting, as "trickster" ie poltergeist hauntings tend to take nose dives for the worse real fast.

Burn sage, frankincense, and asafoetida.  Have your house blessed, Remove all old things belonging to the original owner, repaint,  try to bring lots of natural light into  your home. Put bowls of salted water or a mini water fountain near the baby. if things get hairy, sleep in a consecrated and fortified circle of salt. Literally take salt, say prayers over it and make it into a visible circle all around the room you will be staying in. Keep a "pee/poop" bucket and water, toilet paper, wipes etc IN the circle. Do not leave the circle for anything once its cast and you are ready to sleep. A circle cast at night stays til first light (morning). A circle cast at day wont keep night spirits at bay (circles done in the day fade at night). You may have to move. Honestly, if I noticed that activity Id move, even if I took a loss on the home

175,918 Sometimes an opportunity will come up for me, and I'll refuse it, and it'll persist until I give in. For example I've wanted to do an orientation for a radio station for a couple weeks now, and it's been canceled twice by them (the first time they canceled was lucky for me since i'd forgotten completely about it) and once by me. Usually at this point I would give up and continue on with my life, but this one persists...it makes me think the universe is trying to push me in that direction. Well ok!

175,916 This sounds crazy... I know this sounds crazy... First, my husband and I are two highly educated people .  We can't both be crazy.  Every time this happens, we have a discussion about whether we're going crazy.  Things seem to disappear around the house related to our 3-month old baby.  Then when we need it for the baby and notice it's gone, we search for it for ten minutes, and when we turn around, there it was right where it was supposed to be in the first place.  This has happened four times.  We just don't understand this.

175,914 My state is considering a new anti-texting while driving law. I'm all for such a law, except in this bill, the person texting the driver will be liable if the driver answers the text.

OK, so I'm sitting at home, not knowing someone is driving, and I text them. They answer and crash while doing so, and somehow it's my fault? Because the driver wasn't responsible enough to say, "Sorry, can't answer this text while I'm driving"? How fucked up is that? What is wrong with this country, that we can't hold people responsible for their own actions but have to pin it on innocent people who did nothing wrong? No wonder we're going to the dogs. How about having people pay for their OWN actions, not someone else's? Maybe it's time for us to secede and form the Sane States of America. Because the USA is rapidly going looney toons. Time for a reality check!!

175,913 That moment you take a break from the crowds at the party, step into the bathroom, and suddenly realize there is a boogie clearly visible in your nose... How long has it been there? 175,912 What is wrong with young people today?  I'm sitting in a coffee shop drinking coffee while using my laptop downloading stuff.

This young woman comes up and asks me if she could use my laptop so she can check her email. She says it's really important.

I told her no and then she calls me a selfish asshole. Are you kidding me? We are raising a generation of some really stupid people and this will be the demise of our country.

175,911 "If you have ever been someone who even questioned if it's okay or not to put your cock in a woman when she's passed out drunk, you're still part of the problem."

Yes,because thoughts qualify as something that helps during rape. People are concerned for something that will promote offenders to spy on women more easily,or be able to rape them more easily. What You just referred to are just isolated cases ; people can't fight for every rape case that pops up every now and then, that's the victim's obligation. If people fought for every victim in the US nothing else would have ever been achieved.

175,910 The thing that gets me is how much people are pretending to be concerned about women getting raped.

Where the Hell were you a few years ago when the concern of rape was passed off by politicians as, "Well if it's inevitable, just lay back and enjoy it."?

Where the Hell were you when a girl got gang raped by a bunch of football players in SW Ohio and the school did everything they could to cover it up?

If you have ever been someone who even questioned if it's okay or not to put your cock in a woman when she's passed out drunk, you're still part of the problem.

And meanwhile there's a guy here who proudly spied on his sister-in-law, and another guy who said he would totally dress up as a woman if it meant he could sexually harass women if the law didn't stop him.

And you're worried about transgender people under the guise of being concerned for women?  Fuck right off.

175,906 Secret: Some laws make no sense.

It is illegal for a sex offender to live within 1,000 feet of a day care facility.

Except - if the day care opened after the sex offender was already living in the neighborhood.

Does that make any sex? We don't want these pervs near children. But we put the rights of the pervs before the safety of the children.

175,905 There must be something wrong with my ears whenever I listen to Trump speak.
All I hear is me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me......I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I....
and when I do manage to hear anything else it always sounds like bs, bs, bs, bs, bs.....
Otherwise I don't have anything personally against the guy.

175,904 No one gives a shit that Trump asked women out on dates. That's a dangerous and devious thing to say. People are pissed (and understandably so) because he's a misogynistic asshole who only values women based on what they can do for him and how "hot" they look. This isn't a media slur campaign, it's a well-known fact!

175,900 I'm constantly torn on the concept of having a child. I'd love to have another person to wrap up and protect and hold, but at what cost? My body, my finances, my sanity, not to mention my family's awful struggle with mental illness.
But more so, as I met aged parents with their kids just leaving the nest, I found a disheartening trend of malcontent. Most of these people are jaded and out of touch, can't see past their own noses. Like being in complete control of another human's life has reinforced a sense of authority that they don't rightly have. I've seen too many abusive, nasty, guilt mongers to not be wary of becoming one. But is that because of children or is that just them? Maybe both. Most if not all of the friends I have now had outright crazy or abusive parents, maybe their ability to self evaluate cracked under the weight of the responsibility.

I really have to look at myself and ask if I can get through all those years without warping into something toxic. Especially with my own mental health issues, and how bad my own parents were.
